A Remington 514, pretty as only a stripped-down minimalist machine can be.
Long, long ago, in the Great American Midwest, a twelve-year-old clodhopper was given his first rifle, a Remington 514, that in a fit of college-induced impecunity was sold for a half cup of pottage. Not until eight years ago was I able to correct this shame. Best $100 I ever spent.
