Improvised weaponry

"Barefoot" is pretty good wine for the money, and it doesn't suffer the ignominy of coming with a screw top. It closes with a "cork" of plastic or some such, and the thing looks durable enough to stand rough handling.

It mikes .8125. I'm looking for something in the shed with a .8125 ID. Then compressed air? Surgical tubing? Hair spray?

Look to your laurels, Dr. Strangegun.

I don't know about you, Doctor Goldberg, but while you're busily bent over your drawing board committing Misdemeanor Over-engineering, I'd just pick it up by the neck and use it as a cudgel.

Somewhere knocking around the old manse is a device consisting of a thumb-operated plunger attached to an elongated basketball needle. Said plunger was, uh, plunged into the cork, and "through proper manipulation of the gears a powerful driving force may be obtained." (Sorry - that's from my old Land Cruiser owner's manual. I just never can refrain from using it.) There was also a CO2-powered version. Their ubiquity is testament to their worth.
