Mr. Chairman, I ask unanimous consent to suspend the rules.

Quite properly, most writers in this corner of blogville consider it gauche to prattle on about personal good fortune. But we can make an exception when a man's grandson becomes a National Merit Scholarship finalist, can't we?

Well done, Son.

It's your blog, you make the rules.
Congratulations to the fine young man!

Jim, sir, you should be proud, and you really should be telling folks so we can be proud, too!

Congrats (Jim'sSon)! Good on you!

To be accurate, it is only vicarious good fortune for you.
So, rule suspension is unnecessary. However, congratulations are certainly in order for the young man. Well done. JAGSC
