Me too, now that you mention it, although my attention was mostly engaged in deciding what kind of leaf was printed on her gown. :)
I lose too much resolution on a zoom, but either a K or J frame looks reasonable -- odds slightly to the J because I think the studios probably had more of them in the prop locker.
Gun? What gun? Oh, you mean that S&W that's been through the Hollywood hack shop. Hammer spur filed off, ejector rod lengthened and canted to the side. Looks almost like some of those "things" that show up in Westerns. JAGSC
After further review, which included zooming in to 400%, I revise my previous hasty post. The light was playing tricks--the hammer spur has not been filed off. I now believe the intem in question is a S&W Mod. 10-7, in .38 Spec. configuration. JAGSC
I defer to a superior graphics installation, and I can certainly buy it as a K-frame. I threw out the Colt possibility because I read somewhere that there were more of them around in those days.
What we need is a film clip to see which way the wheel turns. Lets assign the research to JMW, eh? :)

Okay, it's a Smith,but I'd got with a Model 10 or some earlier itaration.
