A tragic thing. Over all these years of desert war, none of us has ever thought to remind our American government that spending young blood and vast treasure in the Middle East was merely another stupid attempt to police religious wars and tribal spats of 1,500 years standing.
Perhaps our leaders in Washington might re-deliver their inspirational Arab Spring speeches of a couple years back. Just, you know, to make certain we don't lose confidence in their wisdom and foresight.

While we are at it, maybe some shared wisdom among us, the Brits, the Rooskys, and the Eyeties might clarify how "not" to bring joy and peace to the Muslim world. JAGSC
Certainly. But it may be a long haul.
The Yurps have had great luck in drawing the desert borders, defining tribes, and making mutually contradictory promises to every ragtag aga who rules a sand dune.
Because, when it comes time to enforce the policies, they demand a division or two of young Americans to "cooperate" with their own forces, if any, and which seem to amount to a squad of combat accountants, four MPs, and a gaggle of clueless embeds from Fleet Street, Pravda, and Paris Match.
And we reply, "What could be fairer?"
You have just written the course outline for how not to do it. Now, if we can complete the outline for how to stay the hell out, we'll be ready for class. JAGSC
