I see that a fellow named Venter has published a new book explaining that we can
do about whatever we want with biology these days. Specifically, he supposedly explains his procedure for remotely reading a genome, translating it to digitalese, and sending it via email. The idea seems extensible to actually duplicating the organism -- or at least its DNA -- on your 3D printer if you're tired of using it to make terrorist pistols.
